A basic easy golf swing – Isn’t that what you’re looking for ? A steady , reliable golf swing that you can count on from the very first tee?  So just why is it we hook and slice so many times ?

Slicing is when the ball starts left of where you are aiming and finishes way right.  The main cause of this is having too much body action and not enough hands, which leads to the club head being open on impact. A hook , where you move the ball right to left is exactly the opposite.

Your driver is the longest club in your bag andis therefore harder to hit straight .  Everybody gets on the tee and wants to hit the golf ball as far as they possibly can, but you must accept one thing – you can drive the ball a greater distance and much more accurately if you do not try to hit the ball so hard .

There are Three key areas to fix golf slice that you must get right to make sure your golf shots are straight all the time .

1. Your Stance
Your golf stance may not be perfect , but just make sure you stay balanced and relaxed. Your weight should be equally balanced over your left and right leg. If you are able to raise either of your feet off the ground, you are not stable . Make sure your ball placement fora tee shot should be just inside your front foot .

2. Your Alignment
You could have the best golf swing in the world but – if you hit it in the wrong direction you are going to have problems . The majority of golfers know that not only must they line up the club face when they take their stance they must line up their feet on a line parallel to the target line.

But one thing that even experienced players forget at times is that although their feet are correctly aligned , they must also make sure that their shoulders are correctly aimed . You can do this by holding a club along your chest and aiming it down the correct parallel aim line . When your body is aligned and aimed correctly, it makes a simple, none compensating golf swing a lot easier to achieve.

3. Grip
It is a common fault when trying to go for more distance to grip the club far too tightly. This right away creates tautness throughout your body – this leads to at best slowing your muscles and reducing club head speed, at worst resulting in snatching the club back and to take your swing out of the ideal swing plane. Both of these actions will cause your ball to go off line . You need to make a conscious attempt to grip the club lightly .

Master these threeareas and your club head will be square on impact and you will be hitting straight shots every time , no more golf swing slice.
